HOW TO APPLY – Music Summer School

Applications are now open for the 2026 Music Summer School at Uppingham School – please apply online by 28 February 2026 if at all possible. While applications will be considered after this date, it may not be possible to accommodate your preferences.

Applications for woodwind places will be decided by mid-February and applicants informed of the Director’s decision, which is made in consultation with the relevant members of the tutor team.

By submitting an application, you consent to NLMS collecting your names, contact details and payment history. Your data will be used only to contact you about the Society’s administration and activities, and we will never share them. You may see and update your data, or request their erasure or restricted use at any time by contacting the Administrator.

FIRST TIME ATTENDEES

When you use the online application form, please be ready to provide the following information, which will help us to allocate you to the most appropriate course:

Instrumentalists

  • Main instrument
  • Orchestral experience and position in orchestra
  • Is your sight-reading considered average/good/very good?
  • Additional (and doubling) instruments played and standard.

Choir

  • Voice
  • List of choirs with which you have sung
  • Details of your musical background.

2026 COURSE FEES

The fees listed below are confirmed for 2026. All fees are per person.

Resident full board – single room * £940
Non-resident with lunch, dinner and beverages £710
* A single room will be allocated unless a shared room is
requested on the application form.An en-suite room may be requested on the application form
but we cannot guarantee one as these are limited in number.There is a £40 additional payment for en-suite.

PAYMENT

Applications should be accompanied by a £75 deposit per person and full fees must be paid by 30 June 2026. Payments may also be made by instalments between December 2025 and June 2026.

Payment can be made by bank transfer or by cheque made payable to “New London Music Association” (the bank will only accept this form of words). The bank details for the 2026 summer school (which are the same as for 2025) will be sent to you in an email after you submit your application. Donations can also be made using these details, and there is a space for adding your intention to make a donation on the application form.

REFUND POLICY

Please note that deposits are not refundable, except to those whom the Summer School cannot accept. Half fees will be refunded for cancellations received by 1 July 2026. After that date no fees are refundable.

Please consider taking out a suitable insurance policy to cover yourself in the event that you have to cancel.
