Our highly successful percussion course began in 2022, with oversight from the tireless Chris Brannick.
As places will be limited, early application is recommended. Players will be involved with both orchestras; they will have the opportunity to work as an ensemble and to learn specific techniques from renowned professional percussionist Chris.
Chris will be teaching and refining orchestral skills from the basic to the advanced, with some quirky cheats and tips and extended techniques thrown in. This will be a chance to build on your strengths if you’re already a percussionist, or to surprise yourself with new skills if you’re not!
Chris Brannick was a founder-member of internationally renowned percussion quartet ensemblebash and was for fifteen years Principal Percussion of Glyndebourne Touring Opera orchestra, leaving to concentrate on contemporary chamber music.
In addition to his career as a percussionist, he is an examiner for ABRSM, has a maths degree, is a qualified executive coach. In 2018 he won the Global Motion Pictures Award for Best Screenplay. Chris has also written and appeared in plays at the Edinburgh and Brighton Fringes.
